The Department of Jobs, Productivity and Industrial Relations has licensed Ripon Kumar Barral of South Pacific Overseas Services Pty Limited to operate an employment agency for one year from December 13, 2018.

The new employment agency went through a rigid screening and licensing process set out in the Employment Relations (Employment Agencies) Regulations (2008) before being allowed to operate as a ‘Employment Agency.

The company will work in areas to explore the work of Fijian workers overseas with many potential employers who wish to hire Fijian workers.

The company has also been briefed on the procedures to follow when sending Fijian workers overseas.

The Department of Employment further warns that anyone who operates an employment agency without a license will be guilty of an offense and liable to a fine of not less than $4,000 and not more than 10 $000 or imprisonment for not more than 1 year or both.
